Flagship Double Fairlie locomotive Merddin Emrys returned to service in 2005 after £185,012 from the Society. This included the external overhaul and repairs to the boiler and the construction of two new power bogies in Boston Lodge Works

An appeal went out to Life members which realised over £40,000 including Gift Aid, which was used to refurbish and improve the interiors of existing First class carriages, with purpose made moquette, as well as ensuring new observation carriages 100 and 102 were fitted to the highest standards
Installation of semaphore signalling, the magnificent result of a call out to members.
The call went out to members to support the installation of heritage signalling features as part of the rebuilding of Porthmadog Harbour Station. The response was magnificent with £68,000 being raised to support the installation of semaphore signalling and the associated features

A new purpose built play area was installed at Tan y Bwlch in time for Easter 2011, at a cost of £21,900, to give parents the opportunity to have a relaxing time at the cafe whilst children can play alongside with a view of the passing trains
