The Wandering Pony

Paul Lewin, Ffestiniog Railway General Manager, writes:

We continue to receive incredible support from our members and volunteers for which we are most grateful. We are therefore offering a further thank you train to our FRS members. We note that Welsh Pony has yet to go beyond Tan y bwlch (TYB) and so on the afternoon of Saturday the 5th of September Ffestiniog Railway Society members are invited to take a complimentary journey to Tan y grisiau (TYG). The train leaves Porthmadog at 12.10 arriving at TYB at 13.00 where there is a break to allow for a visit to TYB tea room. At 13.45 the train departs for TYG where it spends just ten minutes before returning to Porthmadog.

Tickets are available on a first come first served basis. In the same way as our regular service, tickets will be offered on a compartment basis so it will work best if groups of members in family bubbles wish to book together. A total of 23 compartments are available, but, depending on the carriage set used, there may not be any wheelchair accommodation. To book you ticket, please see the foot of this message.

We do appreciate that not all members will be able to join us on this occasion and we will try to provide more opportunities as the year goes on. We will be offering special arrangements for members on vintage weekend on the 9th to 11th of October which will including limited visits to Boston Lodge, naming of Welsh Pony and a Q&A session with company directors. We will also be making efforts to make these events available on-line although not necessarily all of them will be live.
