Over the midsummer weekend of 21-23 June, there were a number of trial runs for the unique Ffestiniog Railway gravity train.
The gravity train was hauled uphill with a mixed roster, the haulage included Blanche and Merddin Emrys. On Friday evening, there was the interesting combination of three quarry hunslets, Velinheli, Hugh Napier and Britomart.
Blanche hauls the up gravity train, passing Linda ready to haul a service train.
The Ffestiniog Railway Society has funded vintage waggons and the gravity to the tune of over £100,000 over the last 20 years and continues to fund further work to enable this living history to continue.
Thank you to Roger van Praet for the photos.
