Tan y Bwlch Station Relaying

Tan y Bwlch Station Relaying

The Ffestiniog Railway was closed to traffic since the beginning of November and reopened temporarily between Christmas and New Year for the service trains to run.

During this closure period, major trackwork has been undertaken to renew the life-expired pointwork at both ends of the station, with the new points paid for by the Ffestiniog Railway Society, from a legacy received to support the railway’s infrastructure.

During this time, only the up line is available for traffic, so trains in both directions are using this line.

Further work will resume following the closure of the railway again in the New Year. Trains are not scheduled to run until March. In the meantime, lots of staff and volunteer time will be expended on ensuring the trackwork is completed here and elsewhere on the line.
