A VIP visitor to the Ffestiniog Railway on Monday 13th June was Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.
On a short visit to the railway he started at Boston Lodge Works where he was shown around the Erecting Shop and the Carriage Works by Works Manager Tony Williams and General Manager, Paul Lewin.
In the carriage shed he tried his hand at trying his hand at lining out, on an example piece, under the guidance of Glenn Williams.


This achieved, he continued to Porthmadog on a special train hauled by David Lloyd George, where he was able to ride on the loco.
