Merddin Emrys in Green

Merddin Emrys in Green

1879 double fairlie Merddin Emrys was repainted by a team of volunteers and staff in between Chistmas and New Year and is now back in regular traffic on passenger services.

Merddin is wearing the green livery for the last year of its current boiler ticket in a nod to the early days of the recovery of the Ffestiniog Railway when both Prince and later Taliesin/Livingston Thompson appeared in green.

The season has already seen the return to traffic of single fairlie Taliesin. Original pioneer England loco Prince is at the end of its overhaul whilst Welsh Pony has recently reappeared following wheelset repairs.
