Whilst funds have continued to be raised for the restoration to working order, physical work has been quietly progressing in Boston Lodge.
The focus lately has been on the frames and cylinders. With both determined to be impractical for further use following years of standing outside, the new cylinders and frames were received over the summer. The cylinders and steamchest castings have been machined in Boston Lodge and have been assembled together.
The boiler components were delivered in May.
The fund stands at around £130,000 of the target £150,000.
